TRANGO Systems – A new age in Modular Combative Training Environments

Step into the cutting-edge world of TRANGO Systems, your gateway to the future of tactical training. As the demands on our military and law enforcement intensify, TRANGO is revolutionizing how training environments are designed. Our modular combative training setups aren’t just about meeting expectations; they’re about surpassing them, ensuring every session enhances skills, boosts survivability, and sharpens lethality.

TRANGO Systems – A new age in Modular Combative Training Environments.

Tactical facilities need to be ‘fit for purpose’, sustainable and adaptable. Facilities need to enhance skills acquisition and provide agility for simultaneous activities, & support training serials that allow for advanced levels of skills proficiency and technology use. Training systems must augment with the tactical theories, tactics, and practices in a holistic approach towards optimal performance outcomes.

TRANGO produces training environments that allow units to quickly create and modify  structures that mimic complex operational conditions and allow for realistic training, improving skill levels, survivability and lethality.

TRANGO - Reality based training environments must provide for practical specificity.

Practical specificity in training requires facilities that closely reflect the environments within which they are later employed. Shooting on a ‘flat range’ at paper targets that do not move, is important for embedding accuracy and weapon’s handling, but it adds very little value towards improving decision making within realistic environments where officers are reacting to the movement and actions of offenders.

Never before has so much expectation and responsibility been placed on our soldiers & front line/ specialist police from an operational context. Police are required to react with no warning to constantly evolving, significant & diverse threats, coupled with a level of scrutiny that is often levelled from a safe executive level office or courtroom…often both.

The utopic end state of any facility encompassing full spectrum training allows for a complete baseline to expert curriculum and associated stimulus response activities in a realistic, modular dynamic facility.

TRANGO - Training Facilities need to be fit for purpose and enhance skills acquisition and levels of proficiency.

The tranches of ‘novice to expert’ progression of skill acquisition, aligned with physical conditioning, is essential when developing the motor patterns and the neuromuscular system for efficiently delivering use of force options. In other words, employment of skills and movement patterns as one functioning activity.

This is combined with the cognitive resilience and combative psychological traits, all being essential criterion in realistic training methodologies and future facility design benchmarks. Autonomous skills allow officers to access important levels of cognition that allow for improved problem solving, communication and most importantly….the successful de-escalation of an event.

TRANGO – The Hierarchy of Competence.

The Hierarchy of competence relates to the various levels of psychological states involved during the process of progressing from incompetence to competence in a skill. This is essential when you are required to apply skills under critical stress in any tactical environment where those skills need to be employed autonomously for the best outcomes.

From a universal training perspective, listed below are the four stages of competence. Due mainly to limited ‘meaningful’ training exposures each year, many law enforcement officers globally, realistically sit between conscious incompetence and conscious competence, with a small percentage meeting the requirements that allow for autonomous responses when it comes to applying survival skills (shooting and DT’s). Below explains each level of competence.

  1. Unconscious incompetence

The individual does not understand or know how to do something and does not necessarily recognize the deficit. They may deny the usefulness of the skill. The individual must recognize their own incompetence (low skill level), and the value of the new skill, before moving on to the next stage. The length of time an individual spends in this stage depends on the strength of the stimulus to learn.

  1. Conscious incompetence

Though the individual does not understand or know how to do something, they recognize the deficit, as well as the value of a new skill in addressing the deficit. The making of mistakes can be integral to the learning process at this stage.

  1. Conscious competence

The individual understands or knows how to do something. However, demonstrating the skill or knowledge requires concentration. It may be broken down into steps, and there is heavy conscious involvement in executing the new skill.

  1. Unconscious competence

The individual has had so much practice with a skill that it has become "autonomous" and can be performed without conscious thought. As a result, the skill can be performed while executing another task. The individual may also be able to teach it to others, depending upon how and when it was learned.

LEGEAR & our partners at TRANGO Systems are committed to providing facilities that empower units to attain the unconscious competence level and deliver responses autonomously.

When personnel can deliver skills more effectively, the organisation will actually encounter less UOF interactions that result in injury to suspects, and most importantly, an increase in survivability for our officers! The tip of the competency pyramid provides that zenith of survivability.

TRANGO – The System. Modify, Move, & Enhance as you go.

Building environments.

Mobile modular shoot houses are designed using building packs that allow the creation of different building types to practice combat operational skills in various scenarios. Available in grey colour or printed texture (brick, wood, concrete graphics).

  • Basic, Advanced & Expert Kits.
  • Expert integrated, Pro & Pro+
  • Street Environments.
  • Subterranean Infrastructure and floating systems.

The infrastructure panels can also be used as individual sections on your internal or external ranges for barricade shoots, both at the shooter end and the target end of the range. The systems can be engaged at point blank range without any likelihood of splashback as the material is self-healing and designed to ensure no fragmentation of the panel materials.

Modular Furniture.  Barricades & Vehicle Representation.

3D functional and printed furniture and outdoor items are developed to create a true-to-life environment for effective tactical and situational combat training. The furniture items are arranged in Kits for each room in a household. Besides that, you can move the separate items (kits’ components) around as per your training requirements. This creates unparalleled flexibility and fast change of training scenes and scenarios.

  • Living Room Kits, Kitchen Kits, Bedroom Kits, Home office Kits, Bathroom Kits & Outdoor Kits

Barricades & Vehicle Representation.

Along with supporting different weapon placements and shooting positions, Trango’s Modular Barricades allow shooters to engage targets offering different key-hole patterns. Additionally, all our products are made of PANELO – a patented composite manufactured exclusively for Trango Systems. Above all, they are ricochet & fragmentation free, lightweight and, therefore, ideal for safe and efficient combat training.

  • Military Print Barricade, Brick Print Barricade, Stone Print Barricade.

Realistic Friend & Foe Target systems.

  • Friend & Foe Targets, Range Targets, Range accessories, Vehicle Targets.

In Conclusion.

TRANGO System’s have no equal. Literally the missing link for years in the training world. The system can be used anywhere, from outdoor ranges with live ammunition to internal use with UTM marker rounds for Force  on Force training.

Any unused internal space can be utilised and transformed into a legitimate training venue that can be reconfigured in minutes.

Various jurisdictions in Australia and NZ are currently taking advantage of TRANGO’s modularity, allowing them to transform warehouses, inner city police buildings, police academies, outdoor ranges and rural locations.

LEGEAR has provided systems to a number of jurisdictions who utilise the panels and targets in conjunction with UTM marking rounds, to run legitimate weapon training programs indoors in their combative spaces. This allowed them to run significant training practices utilising airconditioned environments, allowing for agile training activities without the time wasted travelling to range complexes in hot or wet conditions.

Various decals can be uploaded & applied to the system at your request, literally any decal image you like, to make the external aspect look more realistic and within context.

The system allows you to keep adding panels over the years as well, which is great for spreading expenditure over time, resulting in very large structures to own and train in for years to come.
