Photon Freedom Micro: The First LED Personal Safety Flashlight with Intuitive, Intelligent Programming
Ready for any daily need or emergency, the new Photon Freedom Micro personal flashlight features simple, intuitive single-button operation to provide quick, easy access to the features you use most, with additional mode settings available only when you need them. "Smart circuit" technology gives you the light you need, when you need it.
Simple, Intuitive operation:
All it takes is a simple squeeze of the button to give you instant full power illumination at any time. To dim the light once it is turned on, simply press and hold the button to dim the light to the desired level.
Pressing and holding the button when the light is already off will turn it on at the lowest level and allow you to gradually increase the brightness to give you just the amount of light you need to accomplish your task without disturbing your night vision or disrupting those around you.
When needed, the four safety strobe functions (fast, medium, slow, & SOS) can be accessed by continuing to hold the button down. Once the flashlight has dimmed or brightened fully, it will proceed to cycle through the various strobe functions. Simply release the button when you reach the desired beacon mode.
An additional "momentary/signaling" mode can be accessed by tapping the button several times in rapid succession. When in the signaling mode, the Freedom Micro LED flashlight will behave like the squeeze-only Photon I, with the light turning on only while the button is pressed and off when it is released. To exit the signaling mode and return the light to normal operation, simply press and hold the button for several seconds until the flashlight turns off.
The Photon Freedom Micro personal LED flashlight is truly the easiest-to-use, most powerful, full-featured LED micro-light available. Nearly indestructible and backed up by one of the best warranties in the industry, once you've tried it we're sure you'll agree--the Photon Freedom Micro is simply the best micro-light available, at any price.
IMPORTANT!: The Photon Freedom Micro is shipped in a "point-of-purchase battery protection" mode which is intended to preserve the batteries by automatically shutting the light off after 5-6 seconds. To take it out of this point-of-purchase mode, simply press and hold the button until the flashlight turns off (approx. 15-20 seconds).
Photon Freedom Micro - available LED beam colors:
2X Brighter White LED Beam. With the recent 2X brightness increase (white Photon II & Freedom Micro only), the white is now hands-down the brightest of beam colors, a full 2X brighter than nearly every other single-LED keychain sized personal flashlight on the market! White is great for all around use as everything is viewed in full color. The narrow-angle bulb produces an incredibly bright --and practical-- flashlight-style beam. 6500 K.
Red LED Beam. Red is favored by pilots, sailors, fishermen, and astronomers for the excellent ability to preserve night vision and also for uses of safety, signaling, and map reading. Red is an internationally recognized attention color. 630 nm.
Yellow LED Beam. Yellow is a traditional flashlight beam color, with good projection - up to 20 to 30 feet. Because the red, yellow, & orange Photons use a single CR2032 battery rather than the pair of smaller CR2016 cells used in the other colors, they will provide a significantly longer battery life at the expense of some brightness. This makes these colors excellent for use in emergency kits or other situations where battery life is a primary concern over absolute brightness. 592 nm.
Orange LED Beam. The orange beam combines some of the aspects of both the red and the yellow. It doesn't disturb night vision as much as the yellow, yet will illuminate a path better than the red. 605 nm.
Green LED Beam. The green light is nearly as bright as the blue, turquoise, and white lights while offering a slightly longer battery life. Because the green LED bulb tends to be a bit more efficient than the other colors, it can run for up to 20 hours with one set of batteries. 525 nm.
Blue LED Beam. The blue beam is tremendously bright and makes an excellent all-around flashlight. The wide-angle bulb illuminates everything to the side as well as forward. 470 nm.
Turquoise ("Night-Vision Green") LED Beam. Because of it's lighter shade of color, the turquoise beam is arguably slightly brighter than the blue. The wide-angle bulb can light up an entire room. At reduced brightness levels (try swapping a single CR2032 for the included pair of CR2016 batteries), the blue-green color of the turquoise is an excellent alternative to red for night vision preservation. 495 nm.
Purple LED Beam. The purple light produces a black-light effect, making lighter colors (whites, fluorescents, etc.) appear to glow. Purple bulbs do emit some UV light, which can be harmful if viewed directly. Click here for more detailed information about the specialty uses of purple & UV Photons. 405 nm.
Specialty LED Beam Colors:
Infrared (IR) LED Beam. Used by members of the Secret Service, this Photon light creates a powerful infrared beam invisible to the naked eye. Rated at 11mW, this light is significantly more powerful than the average IR illuminator. When used in conjunction with night vision equipment, it will illuminate a large area. This Photon light is ONLY useful when used with night vision equipment or other equipment sensitive to infrared light. While the infrared Photon can be used with the night-vision feature of some digital cameras & camcorders, please click here for more detailed information about our range of infrared lights and compatibility notes before ordering. 880 nm.
Ultraviolet (UV) LED Beam. UV light has a variety of specialty applications. It can be used to: authenticate money, expose imitation art, identify minerals, follow blood, bacteria and protein trails, authenticate collector glass and stamps, and accelerate curing glue. Medical staff, law enforcement personnel, collectors, cashiers and model builders are the main users of UV lights. 370 nm.
