A famous American industrialist of the 1940's when asked for the secret of his success, declared "Find a need and fill it." Among those who heeded Henry J. Kaiser's advice was a California railroad man, Russ Lummis, founder of our company.
He saw a need for brakemen and switchmen to have a better, safer, more convenient way to handle their keys.
Dangling key chains they wore sometimes caught on moving trains. Lummis filled that need by inventing the KEY-BAKŪ.
It was an instant success, first in the railroad industry and then in other industries, wherever "keys" were part of the job.
Today we continue to fill the need that Lummis found 60 years ago. Our focus is on combining security with convenience, and that's a need we find everywhere.
